Newmeyer Dillion Partner Louis “Dutch” Schotemeyer Named One of Orange County’s 500 Most Influential by Orange County Business Journal
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIF. – November 30, 2021 – Prominent business and real estate law firm Newmeyer Dillion is pleased to announce that partner Louis “Dutch” Schotemeyer has been selected to the Orange County Business Journal’s fifth annual “OC 500 Directory of Influence” list. The 2021 list recognizes the 500 most influential leaders who have made a positive mark on Orange County’s business community over the last year.
Dutch’s practice concentrates on providing legal advice to companies operating without dedicated in-house legal counsel, as well as within the real estate, construction and labor & employment practices. He is a military veteran who counseled William Lyon Homes on topics ranging from labor and employment to contract negotiation; served as VP and associate general counsel, and worked on homebuilder’s 2020 sale to Taylor Morrison Corp. He recently co-authored the article “Cal/OSHA Revised the Emergency Temporary standards for COVID-19 Prevention.”
Notably, Dutch has stayed connected to his military background by mentoring Marines looking to transition into their civilian careers. He is also heavily involved in youth soccer, having coached at Our Lady of Fatima School, Mission Basilica School and with the California Football Academy in San Clemente.
